The competition team trains on 3 different pieces of equipment:
5:00 - 6:30 p.m. for beginner and intermediate gymnasts, Monday & Wednesday
6:30 - 8:30 p.m. for advanced and elite gymnasts, Monday through Thursday, with options for Friday 4:00 - 5:30 p.m. and Saturday 8:30 - 10:00 a.m.
Typically, there is one warm-up meet in December. Then, there are 4 preliminary meets (January, February, March, April) leading up to qualification for the state competition (May). After the state competition, gymnasts travel to regional (June) and nationals (July) if qualified.
Age - groups - Gymnasts compete by age - 8 and under, 9 - 10,
11 - 12, 13 - 14, 15 and over.
Travel may range from San Diego to Bakersfield
Competition fees are approximately $45 per meet
Athlete registration with USAGymnastics is approximately $47
Leotards for girls are approximately $80
Uniforms for boys (long pants, shorts, and step in shirt) approximately $98
